What Is a Minimum View Threshold in Clipping Campaigns?

5 min readUpdated

A minimum view threshold is the number of views, or the minimum earnings amount, a clip must reach before a clipping campaign will review it or pay for it. In minimum view threshold clipping terms, it is the earnings floor: clips below it usually earn nothing, no matter how much work went into them. It pairs with the payout cap, which sets the ceiling.

Why it matters

For clippers, the threshold decides how many of your clips pay at all. In campaigns with a high threshold, a large share of posts may earn zero, so your effective pay per clip can be far lower than the headline rate suggests.

For sponsors, a threshold keeps review manageable. Without one, a campaign could receive thousands of low-view submissions that each need approval for a few cents of payout.

Before joining a campaign, check:

  • Whether the threshold is set in views or as a minimum payout amount
  • Whether it applies to verified views or the views shown on the app
  • How long a clip has to reach it
  • What happens to a clip that crosses it late

How minimum view thresholds work

Stated as a view count

Some campaigns state the rule directly, such as "clips need 10,000 views to qualify." Anything below that number does not earn.

Stated as a minimum payout

Other platforms set a minimum dollar amount instead, and the view count follows from the rate. As of 2026, Whop's Content Rewards documentation describes a minimum payout a video must reach before it enters the sponsor's review queue. Whop's example: with a $3 rate per 1,000 views and a $6 minimum, only videos with at least 2,000 views are submitted for review.

To convert a minimum payout into views:

minimum views = (minimum payout ÷ rate per 1,000) × 1,000

Counted on verified views

Most campaigns measure the threshold against verified views, not the raw number on your dashboard. A clip that looks like it passed may still fall short after filtering.

How thresholds change your earnings

Example: A campaign pays $1.50 per 1,000 views, requires 10,000 views, and caps clips at $300.

Clip Verified views Payout
A 6,000 $0, below the threshold
B 12,000 $18
C 80,000 $120
D 3,000,000 $300, capped

If you post ten clips and six land below 10,000 views, only four earn. That is why the threshold often matters more than the rate. You can test different mixes with the clipping earnings calculator.

Low vs. high thresholds

Low threshold High threshold
Clips that earn More of them Fewer of them
Review load for sponsor Higher Lower
Best for Newer clippers, smaller accounts Clippers with established accounts
Risk for clippers Small payouts Many zero-pay clips

Tips for clippers

  • Read the threshold before you edit. Pick campaigns where your typical clip can clear it.
  • Focus on the opening. Strong hooks and retention help clips reach the views they need.
  • Track your hit rate. Note what share of your clips cross the threshold in each campaign, and drop campaigns where you rarely do.
  • Keep a fixed-pay baseline. Many clippers balance view-based work with jobs that pay regardless of views.

Thresholds and fixed-pay clipping

Thresholds only exist where pay depends on views. On Kreatli Marketplace, creators post jobs and set the pay when posting, per project, hourly, monthly, or yearly. The clipper delivers finished files and the creator posts them, so there is no threshold to clear. Kreatli does not run view-based campaigns.

FAQ

What happens if my clip does not reach the minimum view threshold?

It usually earns nothing for that campaign and may never reach review. Some campaigns allow a clip to qualify later if it keeps gaining views within the counting window, so check the terms.

Is the minimum view threshold the same in every campaign?

No. Each sponsor sets its own threshold, and some platforms express it as a minimum payout amount rather than a view count. Always read the current campaign rules.

Why do clipping campaigns use minimum view thresholds?

They reduce the number of low-performing submissions a sponsor has to review and focus the budget on clips that reached a real audience.
